Jonathan Ross?

Does anyone remember Jonathan Ross presenting a season of Japanese anime? He did (as was fashionable in the 90s, i think) a piece to camera about each one. They were on fairly late at night on BBC2. The only films i can remember, that ran, were Wings Of Honneamise and Patlabor although im sure there were more. Iv been trying to figure out when these programs were on, scouring the internet, but to no avail. Im fairly sure it was late nineties as i watched in our old home before the family moved but it's hard to be certain as the internet seems to offer no information on the subject. I don't think it's Japanorama either as 2002 seems too late. Any help would be much appreciated.

It's strange i usually can't stand Jonathan Ross but i have to give him credit for showing me Wings Of Honneamise, i was blown away by the subtitled edition i saw as a teenager and it's been one of my favorite films ever since.
