Which is the best film on YOUR city?

"Wings of Desire" is certainly the best film on Berlin. "The Third Man" is the best one on Vienna, "Vertigo" on San Francisco. Which is your city and which is the best film showing it?

I am not sure if "Himmel ueber Berlin" is the best movie about Berlin. "Lola Rennt" can give it a good run for the money. And, even while risking to be stonned, there was "AeonFlux" which, while not the best of movies overall, showed me some amazingly beautiful places here in town that I had previously not seen or appreciated (the central crematory, the animal pound, etc).

There is no film set in my town (or village?), except my films ;-).

Since I currently live in Vienna (at least half of the week), I could say The Third Man.

I live in Prague, so I might say "Loves of a Blonde" or "The Cremator".

I claim that it's "my" city because I seem to pass through it quite a lot on my way somewhere else. And there are some bits of it that I do happen to like.

Is that okay?

Anyway, the film: The Milpitas Monster

(The reason you haven't heard of it is that Orson Welles bought up all the prints [and the negative] and burned them out of fear that the film would eclipse Citizen Kane if it were widely released; it's that good.)

I would say that HUB is the best movie about Berlin - it's like a love poem to the city.

As for me - I'd have to say The Boondock Saints. :-) I'm from Boston, so I'm not sure if its actually the best movie set in Boston or just the most well-loved around here.
The Departed was awesome too.

I have never seen "The third man" but I totally loved "Before Sunrise". I was so excited at the scene when the two of them are in a café because this café used to belong to my family and I still live in the very same building :) This makes "Before Sunrise" a very special movie for me!
