not cool enough

I desperately wanted to be trendy and one of the intelligentsia and love this movie but i didnt. i saw no convincing connections, no dialogue/ performance/ relationship even came close to tugging at my heart strings. a bit gutted i couldnt like it and feel cool.

Wanting to be trendy & feel cool is one of the worst ways in the world to approach any work of art. Forget your heartstrings, use your mind & your soul, think & feel.

This.

Give it another 10 years and try it again.

I didn't understand a fair bit in the film, but the heart of it rang true to me, and I fell deeply in love with the characters, all of them, and understood by the looks and the expressions made by both Damiel and Marion how deep and amazing their connection was.

But, the first time I watched the film, I didn't even get half the way through before I gave up. Then about 6 years later I tried again and fell in love.

I don't like to because it's revered, or to be cool. I love it because of how I felt watching it.

Did either of you two actually READ the OP?

Talk about not seeing the forest because the trees are in the way!!

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

Reproach accepted. Yes, it was a cry for help, for an angel’s touch. After only one viewing of the film I don’t feel qualified. Who will volunteer?

Then you have absolutely no taste whatsoever.

The most poignant scene for me was when the man commits suicide, but right before the angel is so tenderly laying his head on his shoulder and holding him, listening to his thoughts, and his reaction when the man jumps...beautiful.

My favourite scene was the one where the guy slaps the clown who gave the game away without a spoiler warning.

Yes, I have seen the film, but try to have some respect for those who may not have. Not sure how fast a typist you are, but for me, typing *SPOILER ALERT* takes less than 5 seconds.
