Absolutely beautiful

Wings of Desire has to be one of the if not the most beautiful movies I have ever seen, there is no question about it. Wim Wenders must be commended for this achievement of directing the most beautiful and poetic movie in my opinion ever made. Wim Wenders was inspired by the work of poet Rainer Maria Rilke's work and it is obvious to see that the whole movie feels like a Rainer Maria Rilke poem. Wings of Desire has to be the greatest emotional and spiritual moving film of all time without exception. The whole movie has a beautiful, poetic, haunting, spiritual and philosophical theme to it that focuses on and depicts the basic human emotions such as loneliness, belonging and desire. It is just perfect, nothing else compares to this remarkable achievement.

There is only a split second between existing and being a mere memory.

Beautifully said. I thought the poetry was that of Peter Handke, not Rilke, though.

"At birth you cried and the world rejoiced. When you die, the world cries and you rejoice"

It's certainly up there near the top for me, in terms of being spiritually moving.

Just make a movie that makes me care, one way or another. I'm open.
