Why does Pinhead care about the dead body of Kirsty's father?

I get that the demons of Leviathan and the Cenboites get off on torturing people and sometimes turning people into new cenobites.

But why would they even Pinhead care about who killed the men especially Kirsty's father?

They already know Frank got out yet they act dumb like who killed these men

reply

Because anyone who could mess someone up that good like Frank did needed to be tempted to open the box and be a service to the cenobites.

You're not listening at all.

Frank killed Larry. Yes, but why would Pinhead and the other cenobites even worry about the dead body of Kirsty's father?

reply

You're not listening at all.

I just gave you my reply.

reply

It's about souls and sin, hell and punishment. Didn't you guys ever go to sunday school?

reply

The cenobites in the first Hellraiser didn't care about sin and punishment, just the box solver's desire, which is why they were ready to take Kirsty even though she wasn't an evil person.

reply

Nope, they want to punish and will seduce. You think Frank got his box accidentally? It was because he was worth it due to his hedonistic and abusive lifestyle. Random box-openers are a bonus. Hey, it's just what I make of it.

reply

I agree. I don't think Clive Barker ever intended their world to be hell. It was hell to some, and heaven to others, completely depending on the puzzle solver's level of masochistic desire.

Hellraiser I and II stand as one separate saga. It's not until later on in the sequels that it became about actual Hell.

reply

Yes. And I am 35 pages removed from finishing the scarlet gospels and boy does it show Barker's deterioration in writing!

reply

Well, Barker is getting old and he had a bad stroke that almost killed him....what do you expect?

reply

I have seen the future of horror and his name is not Clive Barker

reply

That's what Pinhead meant when he said "we want the man who did this". He wanted Frank. But the scene was also supposed to be misleading because Kirsty thought the skinless man actually was Frank, and that Pinhead was going to get her father for killing Frank before Pinhead could get him back.

reply

The question to ask is "is Pinhead angry about it, or impressed?"
