Was there any particular reason why Mary Lou's voice reverberates at the end of the movie when she emerges from Vickie's body? She speaks plenty throughout the movie before then as a ghost and her voice sounds normal.

I think they just thought it would sound good. Though I don't remember her speaking as a ghost other than "cracking up?". I'm more confused about the physical aspect of it. How does Vicky come back when Mary Lou literally burst out of her body?

I never really thought of the Vicky at the prom as Vicky, but a facade for Mary Lou.

^^ Right there. The real Vicki was sucked into the blackboard and... I guess trapped inside the case? What emerged from the blackboard was Mary Lou disguised as Vicki.
