pun works in Finnish? (joke punch line spoiler)

An appeal to a Finnish speaker..

Near the beginning, in the English sub title...

Hamlet walks into a kitchen, and seeing a ham being sliced, exclaims 'Ham.. let me!'.. and cuts himself a thick slice..

So a bit childish, but it made me laugh.. but then I wondered..

Puns must rarely work in other languages.. What was this line originally?

Exactly the same words in Finnish and no pun included. So Kaurismäki made a joke that only works when translated into English. I'm certain that it's intentional.

Yes, I;m sure it was intentional - I can see that happening....
