This REALLY bugs me about the owner's wife

After watching this movie, I just did some research and found pictures of the real dog. One picture is of him dead with a bunch of people surrounding him. One of those in the front row is the original owner's wife. What in the world is she doing in the picture. She didn't care enough about him to keep him. so now it looks like she is pretending that she is sad he died.

She couldn't keep him, she went off to live with her elderly parents in the south where the climate is much warmer and Akitas fare better in colder climates, besides she would be too busy taking care of her parents to take care of Hachi. I'm pretty sure she was saddened by Hachi's passing same with other people who recognized how loyal he was. If she didn't care she wouldn't even showed up to see Hachi's dead body.
