Beautiful film.... on dvd

This film is available on Region 2 dvd in Europe... and it is one of many films that makes it worthwhile to spend the 35 dollars and purchase a Region-Free dvd player if you do not live here in Europe. Although the U.S. remake (PARADISE, 1991) is a decent film, I believe the French original is far superior to the latter effort.

There is a videocassette floating around that has English subtitles...if anyone still has a VCR.

i saw this years ago on television and loved it. i periodically check if it is available on dvd here in the U.S.
i wonder if it ever will be released here?

It's unlikely that you will ever see this dvd released in America, simply because Hollywood made their own version of this same film, with Don Johnson & Melanie Griffith in "PARADISE".

I like the French film better, although I believe Don Johnson played his role better than it is done in French. But the original version is much more realistic and a little less worried about political correctness than the USA version.
