In my humble opinion, I've never seen an "Amanda" that made more sense and was more a living, breathing human being than Joanne Woodward's. Her coquettish humor breathes new life into the play. When, oh, when will there be a DVD transfer?
shareI couldn't agree with you more on both accounts which is why I don't how some people at the time Said Joanne was too old for the part or only got it cause Paul was the director which is why it irks me so bad that she lost the Independant Spirit award for this in 1988 her acting was always flawless and brought new life to any of the Charecters she Played on the big screen or small one
"why are you married to him then if you can't work with him how do you live with him?"
She did do a good job. I can't stand Amanda so Woodward was doing something right.
