This is one of those movies, that keeps you guessing, with that being said, What are everyones ideas about this movie? Do you think Julia and her husband had a son? Do you think her husband died, and it was all just her imagination? I would like to hear some of your thoughts on this? I have quite a few ideas, but would like to hear yours?

Spoiler alert**********

I have NEVER been able to understand why the critics attack this movie as "not having a resolution." Personally, I had no trouble understanding it. A woman has a terrible tragedy happen to her on her wedding day. She tries to maintain her sanity by living an ordinary life. This proves impossible and she slips into a part time fantasy world. Soon her real world and her fantasy world get jumbled up, to where they become one. At the end of the movie, the fantasy world has completely taken over and she has lost the ability to know the difference between what is real and what isn't. I think this is a great story and one that is under appreciated by most.

What about the scene with Sting where he appears to assault her under the subway, was that real?

Maybe this film was ahead of its time. Nowadays you have a lot of films that explore reality vs. illusion/dream (Abre los ojos, Mulholland Dr., Memento, Vanilla Sky, the Lake House, etc.) but back in the 80's I don't think it was so common. "Siesta" w/ Ellen Barkin is the only movie from the late 80's I can think of that explored a similar theme.
