I'm sorry if she reads this, but the other girls in the belly dancing show were much hotter. I know talent should have some weight over looks in casting, but I can't believe that she was the best actress either. And seriously, maybe I'd talk to her at last call, but for the leading lady in a feature film, I mean, c'mon people.
shareyeah, I believe this movie was filmed in Italy (as its stated on this website), so the actors that actually spoke ennglish over there w/out an accent were probably hard to come by...hence there were limited actors to fill the part. Or, they were just willing to travel all the way to Italy to do a low-budget film? I don't think the girl was bad-looking, maybe a little odd-looking in the face. NOT ugliest though!

she actually doesn't look that much older...because she looked old as hell back in '88...
anyway, she was cast in the states and the whole crew went to italy for 7 months to shoot the film

the girl in GHOULIES 2 was too old. She had a lot of wrinkles around the eyes. Her face had odd features too...and when she spoke and finished a sentance she left her mouth hanging open a little bit, like youd see her tongue. It was strange.
But the guy was pretty hot. Hahaha.

For the "ugliest leading lady ever" just watch the 1988 film Miracle Mile. Mare Winningham makes the girl in Ghoulies 2 look like a freaking Playboy centerfold! And watch out for anything with Martha Plimpton!

I just rented the video from Netflix and was having the same thoughts about the lead actress. She has some extreme closeups on DVD that are very clear, and you can see every pore. While not terrific as the big love interest, she isn't terrible enough to wreck the movie. She could be better looking than Juliet Lewis, but that's another story.
I thought Lisa Pelican (what a name!) in the first Ghoulies was pretty in an odd way. She's kind of bony and angular, but she got better looking later. In her guest spot on Murder She Wrote, she was beautiful and boinkable.

She was pretty from far away, but the close ups. . .yikes. Her skin was awful. Probably too much smoking and drinking, caused premature aging.
I'd not say ugly.. but more...plain looking...

I always thought that Amanda Bearse as Amy in Fright Night wasn't a very attractive female lead. Kind of lessened the impact of the scenes in which Jerry is seducing her. Charlie definitely upgraded in the sequel, Traci Lind was fine!
