I remember this movie.

I used to rent movies with my parents when I was little and, for some reason, I remember renting this one. I have no idea why I remember it. I think I watched it a couple times before we returned it (I was very young), but I have no idea what I liked about it.

Maybe it was so bad that it stuck with me? haha

I used to rent this a lot as a kid. I just enjoyed the horror comedy fun. Sadly it is not on DVD.

How is Sherman Hemsley in this? Does he basically play the George Jefferson character? Watching Amen right now!

Sherman Hemsley is excellent in this. He basically plays the type of character he always plays – a lovable, wisecracking crank. He also plays the ghost of a former slave, something I didn't realize until the credits because he's unrecognizable under the beard and makeup. And to top things off: He sings several songs on the soundtrack.

The film is a bit of a turkey, and it's no surprise the director preferred to use the "Alan Smithee" moniker, but anything that entertains me this much is worth a 6/10.

How did you see it?

I'm hoping it will pop up on This TV sometime. ha.

I found a cheap copy on VHS at a record store. This would be perfect for late-night TV, but I doubt it will ever air again anytime in our lifetimes!

Netflix has this available as a streaming video.

It's on youtube now too. For now anyway. Watched it last night.
