Dogs?

Hey, when I was very little I sat up one night and came across a film about two kids (I think) trapped in a house with an angry man and woman who wanted to kill them. the scene I remember most is then crawling through a wall to escape while dogs try and follow to kill them. the man and woman start stabbing through the walls in an attempt to hit the kids and end up killing the dogs by accident. Can anyone tell me if this film is the gate? and if not, does the film exist?
