Much better than I thought it would be

I chose this movie off of On Demand because I thought it would be cheesy and easy to make fun of. Admittedly, it was cheesy (particularly the ending), but it was also genuinely interesting. I feel like the writing was pretty solid, especially for the characters, and although it wasn't scary some moments were disturbing or even suspenseful. It's a lot better than a lot of modern horror movies, I'll say that much.

glad to hear that.

i saw this in theaters back when it came out and loved it since so i'm a little biased. but i always wondered what someone seeing it today for the first time would think.

I just saw it for the first time. I figured I would basically like it, but ended up really liking it. The special effects were particularly enjoyable. How on earth I missed this film as a child (I'm 27) is a complete mystery.

might depend where you live. this was a canadian production so living in canada, it was released everywhere (at least in my city) so i managed to catch it in theaters then.

I can remember renting this one on VHS in the 80s. Recorded it on the DVR recently off this-TV and it was still a lot of fun. The creepy little demons steal the movie.
