Horror and Metal

Hi there,

I really loved this movie and I was wondering if anyone knows more Horror Movies with lots of old school Metal in them....

Thanks!

I'm sure there are loads. What did come to mind straight away though was the TV show Supernatural. If you haven't seen it I think you should look it up. Start from the beginning though.

When I'm more awake I'll post again with some movies I can think of with metal.

Trick or Treat (1986) starring Marc Price is exactly what you're looking for, laura. It might be hard to find these days because the DVD is discontinued. I've seen the movie on Youtube though, so it's still avaliable to watch online for free. Hope this helps. ;)

Rock and Roll Nightmare (1987)
Black Roses (1988)

ooooo Black Roses!!

they had that movie at the mom and pop video store i went to before the major chains arrived. i was always looking in the horror section to rent stuff and it had the coolest box art...it was actually all raised and "3D". the funny thing is i never once rented it back then, despite grabing it and checking the back practically everytime.

its only one or two years ago that i finally rented it. it was terrible but felt like a puzzle piece finally falling into place. lol

I don't recall The Gate containing an old school metal soundtrack. The only thing I remember from a recent viewing on Netflix was talk of metal and briefly playing a record backwards. Glens metal nerd friend was cool, though.

Someone mentioned Trick or Treat above. I think that takes the cake as far as metal in horror movies goes. It's about metal and features Gene Simmons and Ozzy.

Absolutely, with the soundtrack by a band called Fastway. Definitive 80's metal! I remember loving the film as a child.

Hard Rock Zombies and Black Roses come to mind.

Oh, also Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare.

If you like metal and horror you can also check out a band called GWAR.

976-Evil?

reply

Oh yeah, that's got metal in it. Also, the movie titled 'Heavy Metal' (how did I forget that one?)

reply

can you tell what posters were in Glen's room?

reply

I don't recall. What were they?

Also, what was the movie they were watching on TV? I looked like an Italian cannibal flicks, but how would one of those appear to TV?

reply

I swore I saw a picture of Rush, considering this is a Canadian film.

reply

That'd make sense. Was there a Black Sabbath poster? That would be fitting considering the type of movie.
