The Washington Post a 'Hotbed of Communism'?

I was taken aback by that remark made in this movie. Not because of the remark itself, but because a black lady in the late 1960's said that! Didn't think black conservatives were common or even in existence then. But she was also married to a Sergeant Major, which probably shaped her viewpoint.
