Norma Aleandro and Alfonso Cuaron

I'm capping off this double feature of My Left Foot and Gaby on TCM tonight, (seen both before). Still slightly favor My Left Foot, but both films are brilliant on different levels, oddly enough. All of the principle performances in both films are straight across the board outstanding. Worthy of serious study by anyone interested in acting.
Having said that, Norma Aleandro's performance is flat out mesmerizing, easily the most complicated role in either film. And to think she was blacklisted for a few years due to the coup in Argentina, thank God she was able to start working again. I'm curious as to the accuracy of the relationship as depicted between her character and Gaby, as well as her character's actions both on and off screen...

Edited to add: Did anyone catch when the teacher was doing role call, the name after Gaby's was the film's First AD Alfonso Cuaron (cinematically challenged probably know him best as the director of Children of Men).

I noticed that as well about Cuaron, so I looked for him in the end credits to see what he did, and of course, there he was.

Good film by the way, I'd never seen it before.
