I was fortunate to have seen this film in a very limited release in 1987 (or possibly early 1988) at one of the major art house movie theaters in Los Angeles. It was a wonderful movie to see on the big screen.
At that time, the actress who was getting the most buzz from this film was Norma Aleandro, the Argentinean actress who played Florencia. In fact, I believe that only she was nominated for any awards for this film. But Rachel Levin, who played Gaby, turned in an outstanding performance, perhaps the best performance of all.
