Sounds a lot like Star Wars

I just watched this one for the first time in YEARS and I noticed that it uses a lot of sounds from the Star Wars universe... Not just sounds like, but the actual sounds themselves.

1. The B.E.T. - No, it doesn't sound like 50 cent, it sounds just like a Lightsaber.

2. Several ships use the tie-fighters 'Roar'.

3. Pythona (I think that's her name) uses her powers to melt a fence and it too sounds like a Lightsaber.

You must not be able to trade mark/copyright or whatever a sound effect, because I'm sure George Lucas would have sued somebody's ***.

I noticed that as well. Darth Vaders breathing can be heard at one point. In the early scene where Duke is clinging to the bottom of Serpentor's air chariot, you can hear the sound of TIE fighters engines with Darth Vader's distinctive breathing in the background.

I am not sure how they got away with it, but it really sounded like they directly took the audio from Star Wars when they are flying in the Death Star trench.

I was watching an episode from Season 1 today called "Lights, camera, Cobra!" and when a Cobra "Trouble bubble" is landing it has a combination of three Star Wars sounds (Two of which you mentioned)...

1.) A Tie-fighter's roar
2.) Vader's breathing
3.) The Target lock sound from Vader's Tie-Fighter

Amazing.

Yeah, I have to think you can't protect sound F/X.

Well, I watched it again yesterday for the first in [looks up] eight years, and I noticed another Star Wars sound. The Cobra Trouble Bubbles use the sound of the Snowspeeders from The Empire Strikes Back.

The Decepticon jets also used the TIE Fighter sound effect frequently.
