The Ending (spoilers)

So was he disbarred? And how can he go to jail simply for speaking? Doesnt going to jail get you an immediate disbarrment? Help. Thanks.

The short one's gawking at me and the tall one's being very droll.

i realize you asked this a fairly long time ago, but no, i don't think he was disbarred. it was noted that for his actions, he could have been disbarred, but all he was given was a contempt, so he had to serve 10 days in county detention which i'm assuming means jail. at the very end, he tells his girlfriend that he plans on suing people from the government (i believe he said the president and congress?) for closing down her foster home or daycare or whatever she had, i don't really remember. either way, he was still able to practice law by the end. he says he's an ex criminal lawyer, and by that i'm assuming he means he will no longer defend people in criminal cases because of his own morals and what he'd witnessed.

anyways, i don't watch courtroom movies that often, law and order even bores me, but that's what i picked up from what the characters were saying. if he had been disbarred, i don't think he would have been able to practice law anymore, and it would have been made clear by the judge, but all she said was that he had been given a contempt and was to serve 10 days in county detention for his actions, though she also noted that she didn't necessarily disagree with the actions he had to take to prevent his client from walking free, and to prevent it from being a mistrial (which would have significantly raised his chances of walking free prior to his outburst). hope i helped, sorry it's much later after you asked lol
