I'll Be Damned.....Snot-Nose Grows Up.

Although this scene was amusing, the premise was ridiculous...as of course were many of the true legal arguments in this movie.

When arguing in the judge's chambers to admit a witness's journal from his teen years, where he says "I think I pressured her into something she wasn't ready to do.....I forced her. Aug 1956".

Judge: That's teenage sex, for God's sake.

Stormy: Those statements suggest the elements of rape. If he forced a girl to commit sex, he may have commited a crime. And if he was convicted of that crime, then it is relevant, because the rules of evidence state, that every conviction bears relevance on the credibility of any witness who takes the stand...that is the law."

Except....has wasn't convicted of a crime, the statute of limitations would have long-since passed (ask Bill Cosby), and thus, his premise for allowing falls apart.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

True...but do we know one way or the other if the guy testifying was convicted? I believe its safe to assume this scenario. As the jury said the verdict was based upon the evidence, its likely the testimony was therefore thrown out. This only could have occurred if a crime had been committed thus making the testimony moot.
