Cory's death was just as much Christopher's fault

If they had left when Cathy was almost begging to, Cory would not have died. But he kept wanting to be faithful to the mother no matter what he saw or what she did.

reply

Corrine and Olivia were to blame for Cory's death.

reply

If they had left when Cathy wanted to, instead of staying like Christopher insisted, he would have lived.
I know Corinne and Olivia poisoned him, but they could have gotten help before it was too late.

reply

These children were being manipulated, and they needed money before they could escape. They had no idea that they were being poisoned.

reply

Cathy just wanted to escape. Christopher wanted to keep believing the mother.

reply

They all wanted to believe her. It didn't even occur to Cathy that their mother was poisoning them. She knew that her mother and changed, but she never imagined that.

reply

She knew they had to get out of there. That's why she said they had to leave before it was too late.

reply

They couldn't just leave. They needed a plan, money, etc. They were kids who were manipulated and trapped. Cathy wanted to believe their mother. It's kind of sick how you insist on blaming kids for their mother's actions.

reply

Cathy was done believing her at that point, especially after seeing her room. Christopher was the one who kept saying to believe her. They could have left and gone to a shelter. Anything would have been better than waiting until one of them died.

reply

They could have left at any time without money. They were minors. The state would have taken them in. They were malnourished and in poor health. Their mother would have been charged but might have just gotten probation due to her family being wealthy. Once the children became adults they could sue their mother and grandmother. If they didn't care about privacy they could have made the talk show circuit and written a book like Mommy Dearest.
