Loved your blog dude! This film really does deserve some better recognition! I enjoyed it a lot and I don't even like Woopie Goldberg. I pretty much just rented it for the always epic Brad Dourif and he didn't disappoint!

Thank you! And I totally agree- I never considered myself a Whoopi fan by any means until I saw this. Later, I really appreciated her in the Tobe Hooper-directed Tales from the Crypt with James Remar called "Dead Wait."
And Brad Dourif NEVER disappoints!

Yeah she was pretty good in this film and didn't get on my nerves as much. Too bad she's severly annoying now on 'The View', and I am so not saying that I watch 'The View', I've just seen parts!

I'll have to watch that 'Tales From the Crypt' episode with her, I love that show! Have you seen the one with Brad Dourif and Bill Paxton, "People Who Live in Brass Hearses"? I love that one!

I haven't seen that Dourif Tales from the Crypt, but I'll have to check it out! I kinda recently saw Dourif in an episode of The Hitchhiker (somewhat of a subpar Horror anthology series, but it certainly had its moments) called The Legendary Billy B- it's not amaaaazing per se, but Dourif is absolutely brilliant. I wrote an appreciation of it here-

Yeah I just watched that episode on Hulu and Brad Dourif was excellent as always. Kristie Ally was a bit over the top but then again, there's always one... I loved your review as well, you were spot on once again! I loved your line, "Simply poetry, Mr. Hitchhiker. Now go back to Rutger Hauer's finishing school for wayward boys, because you have a lot to learn." I must admit it made me chuckle!

Well as long as we're on the subject of Dourif appearing in tv shows, I'm curious as to whether you've seen his 'X-Files' episode, "Beyond the Sea"? Most definitely one of the best episodes that show ever did (and it was only in season 1!) and Dourif is just outstanding in it! I would love to read your review of that one!

I saw that Dourif X-Files some time ago, but I don't think I'd developed a proper sense of Dourif appreciation yet – I'd love to revisit it sometime soon!

I agree it's a great film and it does get lost with all the bad Lethal Weapons and some of the other schlock at the time that got all the attention.

The scene where Whoopi knocks Jennifer Warren through the glass window is worth the price of admission alone.

I agree, I thought this film was really underrated. I was shocked to see the 4.8 rating on IMDb main page. I thought it was really good with a very good cast. Whoopi, Sam Elliott, Brad Dourif, Ruben Blades were all good.

I thoroughly enjoyed the film for what it was. A Mid-80's action, buddy comedy with a slight twist. Nothing original or groundbreaking, but still enjoyable.
