Strange but engaging

It's my first intro to Atom Egoyan and I thought it was pretty intriguing. How do Atom fans feel this rates among his films?

I like "Family Viewing," but it's obviously the work of a talented director very early in his career. "Exotica" is my favorite from Atom Egoyan (and possibly my favorite film ever), and "The Sweet Hereafter" is excellent as well. I tend to lump Egoyan's first few films together because he seems to have tremendous stories to tell, but is just finding the tools to tell them. Fortunately, with "Exotica," he reached his stride.

Have you seen his other films?

"Family Viewing" is definitely up there with the ones I've seen. Exotica was more engaging plot-wise because there is so many intricacies to the story but The Adjuster possibly had the best atmosphere of his I've seen thus far. Brilliant director, and certainly one of the more original western directors of this generation.
