Is there room for a documentary to discuss the current state of things?

Undercover Brother hinted at it. Cosby was virtually crucified for giving his opinion. I don't know if self-reflection can have a voice if it at all condemns any results of the growth of expressions of freedom.

A documentary would have to cover a historical aspect and couldn't be too close to present day, as that doesn't offer any reflection.

I was surprised to see things like WWII Japanese soldiers interviewed about bombing Pearl Harbor, Nazi concentration camp guards as well as Iran hostage takers from the late seventies, and it was all forty-plus years after the events.

It would depend on how far up to present day you would consider it going.

There was an Eyes On The Prize II, but it doesn't seem as inspiring as the first part, dealing mainly with school redistricting.
