Pink bubbling blood

I remember the first time I watched this film was eons ago in a Halloween party, where an old VHS copy was shown. The thing that interested me the most was the fact ? I remember this vividly ? there was PINK BUBBLING BLOOD, specially in the scene where the redneck is pulled down the cellar. I saw this and it became my standard of a trash horror film.
So, I was kind of disappointed when I bought a pristine quality remastered DVD copy of it and saw belivable red blood. I miss that pink bubbling blood, it made the film even more funny.
Anyway, does anybody else remembers this? Or did I just watch a faded print back in the day? Or maybe it was just a colour correction problem, and they decided to make it red in the DVD release ? I read somewhere Sam Raimi used a mixture with milk for the blood, which would explain why it did it look like strawberry milkshake...

It was definitely very bright for blood, like watery cherry Kool-Aid. Kinda what made it so funny, but it could've been pink.
