This doesn't work for me.

I liked the first one because it had a great atmosphere, mystery and build-up, and just the right amount of nonsense in the last act, even though that was my least favorite part.

Then comes this movie, which takes said last act and drags it out through the whole movie. Everything I liked about the first movie is gone. It's really just a bunch of random nonsense. It does have some cool parts, and Ash is a likable guy, but overall it just doesn't work for me. I'll give it a 4/10.

Thankfully, Army of Darkness took it in a different direction and was far better.
