Good News for Uncut Version of Escape from Sobibor!

HI,

I have a great news for Escape from Sobibor!! Yes! I went to www.amazon.com and found new uncut version on DVD. The running time is 2 hours and 23 mintues. It costs $14.95 and the format is NTSC Region 1. Here is the links from amazon:

I never seen it the uncut version but I have seen the edit version on VHS long time ago. Again on dvd few years, but the quality of the tv movie are terrible.

Let me know everybody abou What do you think about the new uncut version.

Are you exciting?

Chris

reply

Okay.....You've never seen the uncut version.

Do you have THIS version that is for sale listed at 143 minutes? If so, did you verify the run time?

Too many times I have purchased copies of this movie, all with run time listings on their packaging at somewhere between 143 to 145 minutes and found them ALL to be the same old cut version.

I will be very happy if this is in fact the 'true' uncut version with the proper run time.

I also have the uncut DVD. I bought it @ K-Mart for $2.50 about a month ago!!!!!!! It is the 2 hour and 23 minute version. I found nothing wrong with this DVD. Graphics were clear and sound was great. Peace and vote for Obama and all Democrats!

I bought a $1.00 double dvd (w/ Orson Welles' "The Trial") from Walmart last weekend, and it's a cut version - 158mins37secs.

Or you could just download it for free from the Internet Archive

Why would a 20 year-old movie be in the public domain?

reply

Sure. You could download......the CUT 119 minute version.

Can Anyone VERIFY a true 143 minute US dvd release cut of this movie (NOT by what is listed on the box or on an Amazon etc. description which, for this movie at least, are mostly inaccurate).

I HAVE the true uncut version on VHS which I recorded from tv during the shows initial broadcast. It was in a 3 hour time-slot in 1987. I have compared that VHS recording against all abbreviated releases to consistently see the same truncated scenes.

My tape - recorded at SP is beginning to show signs of wear. All releases on dvd (and laserdisc) I have picked-up domestically are the 119-120 minute versions.

Can you get your VHS tape transferred to DVD?

reply

you can download the uncut version from the pirate bay (legally since the film is now public domain)
