I think Wambaugh is a terrific writer always, but this is my favorite. Also, it was ironically hilarious in parts and so tragic in others.

The film was an outstanding presentation and the acting was superb. Peter Coyote is a magnificent actor and supremely underrated. I watch this film every time it comes on.

I actually read the book a year later for an English class. We were doing Crimes of Passion (that was the course study). Anyway, I loved the letters Smith wrote and he signed it, Your lovecock forever. I would've loved to put my principal's signature after that and hang it up on the bulletin board. Even Ferris Bueller wouldn't have done that.
