Juliet Stevenson is HOT in this movie.

What a fascinating film. Every scene is a work of art. Murder was never so erotic.

I expect a lot of people had trouble getting past the opening scene, with the jump-rope girl.

This movie is one of the reasons I still own a VCR.

Why was one of the characters driving a mid 80's Chevy Malibu in this British film? (I am pretty sure it was the car that killed the jump-rope girl.) Is this a Greenaway "thing"? A Dodge Dart featured prominently in "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, Her Lover".

THAT film, by the way, I found incredibly disturbing. I became very queasy and nearly had to vomit before the end. I saw it years ago in College and have never had the nerve to watch it since.

"Mind you don't get juice on the couch" was a lovely line from a fine British lady (even if the ill-fated husband was repulsive)

The beginning of the film drew me in right away. Though my copy was given to me and I did not know what to expect.

I liked it from the start. Different is good.
