Good example pre cell phone use

The scene after Friday and Pep have found that picture with the phone number on the back shows what we had to do before cell phone use. When Friday is on the phone, there is a huge line of people waiting behind him to use the phone. It just made me think, that's what most people had to do before cell phones were invented.

Yeah, whenever I see people using pay phones in older movies, it makes me laugh a little since almost everybody wouldn't be having any of those problems today. (Long lines, not having enough change, etc...)

One other example that comes to mind is the Seinfeld "Chinese Restaurant" episode where George is trying to make a call, but whenever he walks over to the phone, someone gets there before he does.

Long lines at phone booths were not very common. As a matter of fact, I don't think I ever saw an actual line outside of a phone booth when I was growing up in the 70s & 80s. I don't know what what they were thinking when they put that scene in the movie. At the most, you would see maybe one person waiting outside the booth.

Actually I have seen more than a few lines in Boston and New York. Of course they had a lot more phones but there were areas that they didn't.

You know what else is funny? I don't even remember the last time I saw a payphone

Once I snorted Coke. But an ice cube got stuck in my nose and I never did it again.

Our home phone went out the other night, and I drove all over town looking for a pay phone. I finally went to the Public Library and asked to use their desk phone.

Yeah,, I watched it the other day and thought the same thing
