The new 2-disc DVD release from Umbrella Entertainment

It's wonderful. Comes with two all-region discs in a sturdy tin, loads of extras, and the film transfer is really good. (The only thing that could have made it better would have been the actual soundtrack, but that's not a complaint.) My copy even came with a free Dogs in Space logo t-shirt, which was a great bonus.

Just watched the film on the new DVD and it looks so much better then it ever has, still not perfect by modern film standards but the best I have ever seen it, lovely to finally see it in widescreen and surround sound.

Have yet to watch all the features yet but looking forward to it, there are certainly plenty on the disk!

Overall really pleased to finally have a decent copy of one of my all time favourtie movies, and managed to get it for £12.50 delivered (I'm in the UK) so I got a bargain I think!

Please remember the IMDB rating system is from 1 to 10, NOT 1 or 10!

ive been hoping this would come out forever.
all the ones i can find online are no region, but they are all pal not ntsc.
so im not sure if i would be able to play it here in the usa?

reply

It's a hertz thing...I'm no techie, bear with me, but I know the reason NTSC stuff wouldn't play on a PAL only telly was because of the refresh rate, NTSC being higher than the 50Hz of an ordinary non-US telly.

So provided your DVD player can play a PAL disc, you might be allright. Check the book for it, and for your telly. If it's a newish LCD/plasma, odds on it will have no trouble.

got my copy of the new 2 disc dogs in space just finished watching it. The film looks fantastic haven't watched the 2nd disc or turned on any of the 3 commentaries (it may take me a while to get through this). Now that the dvd has finally had a dvd release what is the hold up on re releasing the soundtrack? I have the cd r rated black cover but the sound quality even for cd isn't the best.
