I have to say that every time I see this movie (which has been about a million times), I always get goosebumps throughout the entire thing, but especially the love scene. I love that it's not explicit, but still so incredibly hot.
shareYes, it really does prove that you don't need nudity, and explicit shots of people going at it, to get the point acrossed. I've always felt the love scene in Dirty Dancing was more romantic then graphically sexual, we don't even really see them 'doing it' , instead we see them dancing and touching/holding each other.
Its more emotional that way, you really feel Johnny and Baby's growing feelings for each other, you feel this is about more then just sex. Whereas nowadays filmmakers would probably just give us some crude scene of them lustfully ripping each others clothes off.
Agreed. And Cry To Me is one of the sexiest songs ever, so that certainly helped too.

I happen to think one of the hottest, sexiest, steamiest scenes in movie history is the chess game in the original "Thomas Crown Affair," and there's barely any skin.

Agreed, but am I the only one who feels cheated that we don't see the precise moment they kiss? The camera pans down to his holding her shirt against her bum, and when it pans back up, they're ALREADY kissing! It seems minor, but that first contact can be so intense. Cheated. Cheated, I say!
