Robbie and Lisa

When Baby and Neil are talking and see Robbie and Lisa arrive from the golf course and Lisa is saying that she expects Robbie to apologize and Robbie tells her to run back to her parents and Neil apologizes that she had to see that. Lisa is adjusting her sweater and her hair is tousled, are we supposed to think that Robbie raped/assaulted her? I've seen this movie 100 times yet I still get a little confused there.

I've always assumed that they were making-out and Robbie tried to push it too far...if you know what I mean.

If their had been any sort of sexual assault I sincerely doubt Lisa would keep on seeing Robbie and later think about sleeping with him. At most Robbie was pressuring Lisa to sleep with him, but with words and seduction attempts, not rape.

I don't think it went as far as sexual assault. But given Robbie's character, he probably wanted the making out to go further, maybe he started getting a bit rough and she had to push him off. She should've dumped his ass there and then. I don't know why she was still with him after that.

Lisa was a sad character to me. She had a masculine face (which probably didn't make her appealing to the opposite sex), couldn't sing, and frankly was lacking in the personality department. She struck me as someone who expected boorish behavior from boys and was willing to endure it. Had she not been the daughter of an esteemed guest I'm guessing Robbie would've targeted someone else.

Its true she couldn't sing to save her life, lol.

But I don't think Lisa was that bad looking to where a guy could never be attracted to her (I've seen guys with much worse looking women) I think it was more her attitude and how she treats Baby that makes people not like her in the film...but I think she matures by the end.

She was jealous of Baby because she was favored by their Dad, but in the end grows out of it and begins to realize that her sister needs her...I love that moment between them on the bed after Johnny has left and we see Baby is obviously hurting because of it and Lisa goes and tries to comfort her. 

I love it too :)

^ me too. Very sweet to see Lisa consoling Baby.

I've been through a terrible ordeal!

I thought maybe he called her by the wrong name but reading other comments that she was probably just wanting to make out and he probably tried to push for more, I agree that he probably did push for more.

Maybe by the end when Baby is getting ready for the dance and Lisa comes in, Lisa was subtlety telling Baby that Baby was right about Robbie being a complete jerk and Lisa had seen for herself finally.

I actually found Lisa attractive.
Her body was flawless. Perfect hourglass shape.
Saw a pic of the actress Jane Bruckner who played her.
She looks a lot different. She aged well and she looks better than she did in the movie.

An interesting fact I read about Jane is that she co-wrote the "Hula" song she sings in the film. Until about 10 or 15 years ago, she was never given credit for it as she revealed in a documentary interview about the film.
