Can never get rid of the soundtrack from my head. Its been years since i last saw it, but still that tune rings in my head. Wonder they have a ringtone for it?

reply

Hahahahaaaa!!!

I can still hear the theme song too!
They played it through the whole damn movie!
Remember when the dwarf was playing it on his harp? The Princess tells him to stop playing that song.

This movie is one of my faves. I show it to all my friends that haven't seen it ,and they like it.

It's immortal.

This movie is freakin AWESOME! All the Deathstalker movies should have been like this one. And yeah, the score was awesome. I just caught myself humming it a few minutes ago and that's why I came here.

The soundtrack is available now, as a limited edition along with Chopping Mall (which had the same team - director, music, actor (Terlesky) and actor (La Zar)). I know because I bought it as soon as a I saw it :)

This is definitely a top ten "B" movie. It is perfect and the two leads make it that way. John Terlesky and Monique Gabrielle play their parts perfectly. The theme song is also great and really gets you into the feel of the movie. Monique's love scene in bed at the end is perfect masturbation material to cap off one of the finest films I've seen.

I remember watching this on the USA Network on a Friday and Saturday night show back in the day called USA UP ALL NIGHT! I loved watching this movie and the many other movies that Rhonda Shear the Friday night host and Gilbert Gottfried the Saturday night host use to show you know.

WOW going through and finding a lot of these movies brings back a lot of great memories for me.

Dedicated to USA UP ALL NIGHT and the fans of the show! http://deefilmroll.com/usa-uan/

I love this fantasy B-movies of the 80's
And Deathstalker 2 II is by far the best i ever seen.

Along with some of Troma's output, it's arguably one of the last great Z-movies that have now died out due to indie studios shutting their doors.

It honestly reminds me very much of skid row adaptation of "The Legend of Zelda", had something like that ever been done. Though I think Deathstalker 2 predates it, it's actually very similar to the "Zelda" cartoon that ran in the late 80s, right down to the zany tone and the bickering hero/princess couple.

I'd actually say Best Bad Movie Ever!
It's not a good movie in any technical sense of the word(very much the opposite) but it's still freakin' hilarious and I am proud to to say I own the DVD.

Try Ebay:

I have the version with Deathstalker 1 on the other side of the disk but that's very expensive now so your best bet is the Australian release.

If you don't have a region 4 DVD player you should be able to play it on the computer. You can use a program called DVD Region+CSS Free to play imported DVDs.

Agreed. It's a whole lot of infectiously kitschy fun.

Just another fan here wanting to give props to my favourite movie!! John Terlesky was obviously having a ton of fun as Deathstalker and his good humor is infectious. Monique Gabrielle was adorable as good Evie and sexy as hell as bad Evie. I remember playing guns with my friends growing up, and we'd all have to pick imaginary girlfriends to rescue. My friends would always pick Cindy Crawford or Pamela Anderson or something, but for me it was always Monique! Sultana was pretty hot too come to think of it, and John Lazar was equal parts smug and slimy as the love-to-hate-him Jarak.

I'm not sure why I love this movie so much, it's unabashedly a b movie with a small budget and some pretty cheesy acting. Despite this (or perhaps in part because of it) the movie really did feel like it was taking place in a fantasy world, and I find myself surprisingly involved in the rather routine plot every time I watch it. The movie was obviously a labour of love and that really shines through, especially now that more often than not directors are chosen to make a certain film rather than making the films that they choose.

I guess there's really no point in trying to explain this movies charm, either you'll get it or you won't. For me, it just seems to do everything just right, even when it's doing things perfectly wrong (if that makes any sense to you).

Oh, and for those who were asking, Deathstalker 2 has been released as part of the four movie Sword and Sorcery Collection along with Deathstalker 1, Barbarian Queen and the Warrior and the Sorceress. Would have rather they packaged it with Deathstalker 3 & 4, but either way I would have been buying the set pretty much just for part 2.
