Funny sequel, I rate it No 2-3, after 1st and Death Wish 5. Fine combination of Fantômas-leke disguise and North-Northwest/Charade-like trick with empty places... The most important trick in the script, though, was stolen from Bugs Bunny cartoon - divide and conquer technique.

Congratulations to the script maker Gall Morgan Hickman.

Bronson probably did not notice, otherwise he would have refused the script, but detective Reiner was in love with his colleague Nozaki: it was obvious from his desperation after he had found out for Nozaki's death. To see him holding that face for the rest of the movie was hilarious.

Plus, while living, Nozaki gave off "Mr. Sulu" vibes. If you know what I mean.

Haha! You're absolutely right. I always noticed the vibe between the two of them. It was a very 80s Goose/Maverick thing. Clearly more than just friends. Especially from Reiner's end. There was an ackwardness and insecurity about him. Their love affair was obviously a secret and when Nowsaki faced the business end Bronson's peacekeeper, Reiner having no one to confide in and share his feeling with, lost it and decided that going after Kersey was more important than his career.
