A long time ago, a buddy and I noticed some symbolism in this film that indicates that the director is gay. Notice what happens to the creep in the vest once he gets shot....

When the second thug gets shot, his butt hits the phallic trashcan. This theme is a popular discussion topic at ivy league schools.
