Lionsgate initial DVD release 'recalled'

Check the review on DVDTalk.com, there is information in the "correction" part that says Lionsgate is now aware of the problem with this initial DVD release and will be replacing the discs for purchasers starting the week of November 23, 2009, and will send out the full length 83-minute version.

How could they not be aware of this? I was so excited about the DVD release when I first heard about it, but would definitely not purchase it cut. Are we sure this will be a full release? I also think they should include the hour long documentary "John Huston and the Dubliners" that was intended to be released alongside it. And I would love if they would change the horrible box-cover art and release it in the same cover as the VHS that seemed more appropriate to the movie and not focusing on Anjelica Huston's star power. I am awaiting reviews of this before I make a purchase.

I just wanted to update everyone. I spoke with Lionsgate today (Dec 8, 09) and, although there press release says that they would begin shipping the week of November 23rd, they currently have no release date set for the corrected DVD. Who knows how long we will have to wait. It would be nice to get it before Jan 6 so we can view it on its proper day but there is no reason to hold our breath.

If any of you get updated info please post it here to help the rest of us. Thanks

I'll make a good Gordon, Gordon!
