Note?

There's a scene where someone glances down at a piece of paper that looks like a note or a list. I think it was Gabriel (Donal McCann). It flashed by too quickly for me to read it. I was wondering if someone could tell me the significance of the note/list. Thanks.

Well, you should treat yourself to the movie on DVD. I believe it just came out (and interestingly, the first 'pressings' were screwed up. They deleted 10 minutes of the movie by accident and had to be recalled).

Thanks for the answer. I was watching it 'live.' How odd it is to watch something in real time. One gets so spoiled by DVR's, DVD's, video tape, the 'net, etc.

Which version of 'Tess' do you like? I've seen a couple (the Natasia Kinski sp.? version and the more recent PBS miniseries). I've also read the book a few times and it was probably my favorite novel until I read Thackeray's 'Vanity Fair.' (the A&E/BBC miniseries of this was excellent; but the Nair/Witherspoon movie was awful). Galsworthy's 'Forsyte Saga' is also up there for me. I have the e-book of 'Tess' as well as both the full 'Dubliners' and separately 'The Dead.'
