As for the pudding, Williams-Sonoma sells one around Christmas season, with a jar of sweet butter topping sold separately. An expensive, but impressive dessert that turned out perfect in a steamer.

Do people in the US not light their Christmas pudding? It's a big part of the fun of a Christmas Dinner. On a couple of occasions in my experience the whole pudding has gone up and we have been left with just cinders. By that point in the meal everyone is too drunk to care.
