Plot

I only saw parts of this movie. What is the blackmail scheme they refer to? What does the main character have to do with the rich lady she looks just like? Also, how does it end?

reply

The rich lady had killed her husband for his money, and her sister was the only person who knew it. The sister became a patient of the doctor, and he took advantage of the situation by blackmailing the rich sister. The main character had nothing to do with the two sisters other than she looked and sounded similar to them both.

*Spoiler Alert for ending*

Mcgovern tricks Roddy & the doc into thinking she escaped outside, so they go looking for her. Mcgovern backtracks through the house while they are outside and meets the rich lady and tries to tell her that she is not really her sister, but an actress. She doesn't buy it and tries to kill her, but Mcgovern ends up killing her instead, and stashes the body. She then tries to replace the rich lady by taking her clothes. The other two return to the house where Roddy leads her to the room where they have been keeping her. Once there, Roddy notices her hand has bandages and realizes it's Mcgovern, she stabs him in the neck. She goes back downstairs where she runs into the doc, as they talk, the doc realizes it's Mcgovern and gets out of his chair to slowly chase her back into the upstairs. This eventually leads to the attic, where the doc is stabbed and also ends up walking right into the old bear trap that Mcgovern set on the floor. Soon after the doc dies, her husband appears in the attic and comforts her.
