I'd love to see it on DVD but I don't think it will ever happen. I agree that I'd love to see it in widescreen (the pan and scan version is just TOO big), but at least I made my own DVD to watch in the meantime.

This is quite possibly the first horror movie I ever watched. The kid who lived down the street from me had an older sister, and she rented it, and let us watch it. (This family was far from morally upstanding.)

Interesting, but there isn't a picture of the DVD, as for a lot of weird movies on that site. Is there anyone daring enough to buy a copy and tell the world about it???

reply

When I took a closer look at the web-site I noticed they put cult-movies like "the Curse" and "Star Wars Holiday Special" on DVD-r disc and sell them for like 15$.

Was this the movie with the exploding cow brains? I was like 5 the first time I watched it and all I remember is my mom and sister getting sick, but I didn't mind because it looked like the blackberry dumplings my mom forced me to eat before I watched the movie. Can anyone confirm? I want to rent it again and make them barf for old times!

The website doesn't even exist anymore. LOL

After looking up some information I do believe that MGM is the current DVD copyright holder...

I remember when we rented it in the 80's, it was boxed in a coffin-shaped box! WOW! How cool was that? I'd pay good money to have a copy of The Farm (as I know it) with a box like that!! We gotta start a campaign to get it released!

"I think MGM has rights to all 4"

They proabably do but not because they came from one rights holder. CURSE II was produced by Ovideo Assonitis and distributed by TransWorld who also was supposed to distribute CURSE IV (an Empire Pictures production) under its CATACOMBS title. CURSE III, I believe, was distributed by Vision International who also distributed Assonitis' BEYOND THE DOOR III (the European versions of which are far, far gorier than the US R rated version) so MGM probably has this one too. I think THE CURSE comes from the same catalogue as the earlier Assonitis production BEYOND THE DOOR though MGM may or may not still have that one since another company announced a release of it and MGM is not known for sub-licensing.

MGM is the rights holder. The film just aired on the Sci-Fi Channel here in the UK, and the MGM/Sony Television logos appeared at the end of the credits.
