Filmed in Columbia in Italian????

Was this really filmed in Italian? You'd think if they were going to change the language it would be to english for commercial reasons but Italian?! Why not Spanish, like the book it comes from, and the country it's set in?! I'd still like to see the film though cause i love the book so much , hope it gets a dvd release soon! (or a spanish language remake!)

No, actually it was filmed in spanish, but the accent of the italian actors is so tick that it's actually distracting and annoying to the film, which in my opinion is pretty bad.

That is your opinion not mine, I think everybody did a great job. Is a very interesting movie. 8/10

I respect your opinion, but believe me, if Spanish is your mother language and the original book's language, it's distracting the huge accent problem. Also, Ornella Muti doesn't look too teenager, as the character is suppouse to be in the original work.

If it is filmed in Spanish then having non spanish actors playing these roles will lead to distraction. Its a bit like when Gerard Depardieu makes an English lnguauge films there is a heavy accent.

Its that man again!!

When Channel 4 (U.K.)screened the film during the 1990's the dialogue was in Spanish with English subtitles.I originally thought it was Italian, but the frequent "el" where you would expect "il" made me wonder. Also, when Rupert Everett tries to persuade Alain Cuny to sell him his mansion, the widower replies "no puedo" rather than "non Posso" (I can't). I have a high regard for the film, although I have mixed feelings about the "romantic ending".
