Chuck's music will never die

My wife and I were on a Princess cruise a few years ago. There was a young guy from Jamaica named Robert playing an electric guitar poolside. He had a little rhythm machine and was doing Caribbean standards like "Yellow Bird" and "Mambo #5." The crowd wasn't into it, just sunning and splashing. Robert wound it down and asked if anyone had requests. I told him, "You're a guitar player, play Johnny B. Good." He smiled and lit it up. The whole crowd poolside and on the sun deck above got up and started dancing and stomping their feet. When it ended, they gave him a huge ovation. Robert said something about how the cruise line makes him play the standards and that he was happy to do it but that it was fun to do songs like that.
I think people will listen to Berry's catalog for many years to come.

I think you're right! My tween Grandson got a guitar and Johnny B. Good was the second song he learned.
