fatal flaws of the chipmunks full length feature film

we get it...you all love this movie...and im not saying i dont, but seeing as how this is a place to discuss serious film, i think we should talk about the fatal flaws of this motion picture.

first and foremost...why didnt alvin and brittany ever hook the *beep* up? after all that sexual tension between the two of them i cant believe the film ends without the two of them ever going at it? i found that very disappointing and unrealistic? im not even asking for sex here, but i mean a kiss or a handy J would've been appropriate. if they really didnt want to go that route with the two (and i find that hard to believe)...why couldnt simon and janette hooked up? they definetely liked eachother and janette was a fox...and without a doubt wild in bed. i forget the fat ones names...and i dont really care if they hooked up, so i'll leave them out of this complaint.

second of all...why was david seville such an idiot? in the tv show this guy had it together...in the movie he was a moron. this guy hasnt got a clue...as obvious when he talks on the phone with that drunk he hired to babysit them.

and lastly...the rock off? what the *beep* was going on in that scene? i realize they wanted to like...rock 'n' roll eachother out (bone if you ask me), but like who is to say who rocked harder? they sound exactly the same.

anyway if someone would care to address these issues with me that would be wonderful...as i know all of you are as a big of fans as i am so i enjoy responses from fellow chipmunkees(?).

I would have liked to see Jeanette finally get her due. The snake charming part was about as close as that got :P, but she was still just the one with the cute sense of bad luck. I would have just liked to have seen Brittany put in her lace for once, but eh, thats the only character flaws I can see in the movie.

It seems like the chipettes lucked out with being brought to the palace that happend to have their dolls. Even if they had to charm the snakes and all that, what sort of dumb luck was that?

I want to know how Elanore made it through the snake infested room so quickly also.

But I don't konw I can't think of any distinct ones at the moment.

ok, lets get this straight, Alvin and Brittany are around the age of 9 (I remember that Simon and Jeannette where apparently no older then 12) therefore they are prepubescent. God, what did you really expect from kids that age?

Dave, now I have to agree with you, pretty clueless. But if he did have that clue we're all dying for him to have he would have worked out the kids weren’t home, went back to see where they ran off to and Mrs. Miller would have told them where they where. Movie over after the first 30 minutes. Anyway, he was on a business trip, he had other things to worry about and what kind of parent really suspects that they're kids are in the middle of a diamond smuggling ring?

The rock-off was awesome, and it was in there for a more noise and candy appeal, also to remind you of the two groups rivalry I guess..

Again, the chipettes where sent to the palace where the dolls where to move the plot along, but seriously? where else would diamond-filled dolls end up other then at a palace?

ah so you are saying that the filmmakers had to sacrifice dave's intelligence and an air of realism so that we, as moviegoers, could have a "good" time with the movie. thats why i am saying they are fatal flaws of the movie.

and the first time i ever got laid was at age 10, so really i dont think it would be unacceptable for 2 nine year olds to do the same. but really here, all i asked for was a little make out session between the two...or even a blowjob from brittany if i wanted to stretch the envelope. so dont get your panties in a bunch about intercourse betweent the two.

Yeah, as I said I have to agree with you about Dave in this movie.

I'm just stating the fact that this was the 80s and even now it's illegal to have intercourse below the age of 16 (there are exceptions depending where you live, but I believe the youngest is age 10 or 11 by law and even that has strings attached.) Also, this was a children’s movie and many parents would have though it out of the question for the characters to have intercourse or even a blowjob (lawsuit anyone?) I'm not agents them kissing or anything like that but i don't see the fact that they didn't a fatal flaw in the plot, but it would have been a bonus.

Silly topic but ok.
Egypt: is a republic, not a monarchy (no princes or kings). Arranged marriage (with consent) is legal, but forced marriage is against the law.. Holding someone against their will is a serious crime.
