influence of Bob Fosse's Cabaret

The first musical act in the saloon: girls dancing wild and then the primadonna appears... At a later stage, when manners have remarkably improved in town, girls' dances are more relaxed and the primadonna sings an elegant slow song and is more dressed... I think it is no coincidence that this was filmed just before Bob Fosse's Cabaret (1972) made it to public theatres in the USSR (1987). Of course, even before that date, Soviet cinema workers did have their own private shows of capitalist films that could not be shown to the general public. Did anyone else note the similarity?
