I had no clue about this flick, until I saw Kate's imdb soundtrack listing. Her song sets up a perfect atmosphere which the movie keeps throughout.
And I LOVE that Reed has a line lifted directly from the song!
That was the reason I saw the film initially back in the 80s. I belonged to her fan club and it was announced at the time that she would be providing the theme song. I immediately loved the film upon seeing it. I wish it would get a Bluray release. I just received the soundtrack on CD from Screen Archives. It's paired with the soundtrack for MONA LISA. it's great to hear it again after all these years. I haven't listened to this album since I last had a turntable back in the 90s.
