No I wouldn't. Lucy told the magazine folks that she didn't want them to check on them. Big mistake. They almost died because of Gerald's bone idleness. He failed to construct a suitable shelter. He failed to pack the iodine and he failed to grow even a few vegetables (which he planted in direct sunlight as you would ).

He was too old and not in good shape. I'd have been worried about him dying and leaving me to survive alone. This whole trip was very badly thought out.
