That guy's always struck me as a mouthy little turd, and a talentless troll. I'm glad in this movie his character was just a prop for all the funniest scenes ie getting farted on and passing out from the smell and then getting make up stuffed in his face by Cindy. One of the funniest scenes is when both his parents say "shut up, Chuck!". I'd bet anything the guy was the same character in real life, just an annoying little Sh!t.
"That guy's always struck me as a mouthy little turd, and a talentless troll."
Yes. This.
It's just a shame to me, because he knows damned well how well-loved this movie and Amanda's character are to millions, and he so nonchalantly shrugged off what happened. I guess if nothing else, I have to kind of appreciate his candor. He could have tried ingratiating himself to the film's fans, but he showed a (brutally) honest side of himself. So, props, I guess?
It is obvious they never kept in touch after the film. I don't see anything wrong with his answer. If you are not close with someone, why have an opinion?
I don't think anybody was asking for a 10 thousand word monologue documenting her entire life story and history of their friendship. What does anybody say when somebody is asked about somebody passing? you simply say you're sorry. It's not that complex.
Apparently none of you listened to the video. He said it was hard for him to have any realistic opinions about her health problems because he hadn't spoken to her in over 20 years. "Other than being sad she died obviously" was the next statement. Maybe it wasn't the most heartfelt response but it wasn't the way this thread framed it.
